Dr. Arikana Drops USAID Bombshell! Says It was a trap to control and keep Africa poor! In a sensational interview making headlines on social media, the former African Union ambassador to the U.S. has made some shocking revelations about how USAID was used to keep Africa poor. During an interview with Al Jazeera, Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao first exposed the real reason behind USAID and other NGOs, saying their true aim is to destabilize Africa not help it. Indeed, the view that USAID's true agenda is to destabilise African governments has been long held by many pan-Africanists. A 2023 article from Black Agenda Report paints the perfect picture of this reality using Libya as a case study. According to the Black Agenda Report, USAID presents itself as a development agency aiding Libya, but in reality, it aligns with U.S. imperialist objectives, continuing the agenda that led to the 2011 NATO-backed overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi. The resulting instability has allowed the U.S. to expand its influence through soft power, with USAID operating under the Global Fragility Act to justify intervention under the guise of "conflict prevention" and "stability." Since 2011, USAID has worked in tandem with U.S. military and political interests, reinforcing hegemony rather than supporting Libyan sovereignty.
